Jubilee moments worth remembering

Here are a few of my favourite Jubilee snaps from the weekend, with added captions. Feel free to comment and leave your own opinions on what was being said in each scene!

"Keep going lads, we've rowed all the way from New Zealand, only a few more miles to go."

The concert stage explodes when it can't take any more of Grace Jones hoola-hooping

Camilla: Is it a bird? Is it a plane?
Charles: I don't know. I can't see anything without my glasses.
Catherine: Well they didn't bomb us.
William: Yes, I made sure everything was in order before they set off.
Harry (sarcastically): Congratulations, brother.
The Queen: Well, that's that over for another 15 years. Anyone got a cup of tea? I'm parched.

Both thinking at the same time: Who invited that idiot?
Congratulations, and thank-you, Your Majesty, for 60 years of superb service!

Now let's sing the second verse of the national anthem. All together...

O lord God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall!
Confound their knavish tricks,
Confuse their politics,
On you our hopes we fix,
God save the Queen!

  1. isn't it technically the third verse they sing (and no-one really knows!):
    Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
    Long may she reign.
    May she defend our laws,
    And give us ever cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
    God save the Queen.

  2. Actually I believe that is the fifth and final verse, but it is the other one that gets sung. Although I quite like the second verse, it has the word 'knavish' in it.

  3. I notice we don't sing the verse about crushing the rebellious scots anymore!

  4. You never know though. If they do decide to split with England we could bring it back.
